Toshiba's First Android Netbook AC100 | NVIDIA Tegra 250 Processor 8-hour Playback 1080p video



Toshiba AC100 is their world first machine run on Android 2.1, and is shaping up to be a very tidy netbook with up to 8 hours of battery, or up to 7 DAYS' standby life. Toshiba AC100 allowing instant emailing, web browsing and document editing on the go.

Toshiba's AC100 combines full-size keyboard and compact clamshell form factor to offer a truly stunning mobile device.


Toshiba's AC100 is a very modern take on the Hole Atom-based netbook idea. For starters, this super slim smartbook. It's running Android 2.1 Eclair on a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra processing technology built around a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore. Multicore Processor capable of about 8 hours of browsing and video playback and 7 days standby before needing a recharge. It's also packing a 32GB SSD, 512 MB DDR2 RAM its 333MHz and 8GB flash storage , 802.11n Wi-Fi, optional 3G data, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, The SD/MMC card reader will expand the storage.



As for software, the Toshiba's AC100 ships with Documents to Go for editing Microsoft Office docs, an email client with POP3, IMAP, and Exchange support, an Opera Mobile browser, and a Toshiba media player which should support HD 1080p video playback if it's taking full advantage of that Tegra 2 silicon. It weighs 870g and only has one USB port and one miniUSB, but there's also a HDMI port for connecting to TV's etc,. too.



You can easily cart around more media if needed, and the 1.3MP webcam with microphone will get you using video chatting apps (eg: yahoo Messenger , Gtalk, Aol, Skype, ect,..) once downloaded from the Market and an HDMI jack beneath that , has a 10.1-inch TruBrite screen with LED-backlighting, and 1024 x 600 pixel display.
