Sony Slim External Blu-ray Rewritable Drive

Sony Optiarc America introduced its first slim, portable and external Blu-ray Disc which is rewritable drive for the compliment notebooks, notebooks or desktop PCs. BDX-S500U is the new model used to write single BD-R media at up to 6X and dual layer BD-R media at up to 4X speeds, which records 25GB a full disc in about 20 minutes. The speed of recording is achieved using 6X compatible BD-R media, and one blank disc 25GB Sony BD-R comes which is included in the retail box. CyberLink’s Media Suite 8 included with the drive is to capture, author, edit, back up, view high-definition personal content and play back Blu-ray Disc movies including 3D Blu-ray movies

The digital interface with a high speed USB and maximum flexibility offers quick and easy connectivity. The Blu-ray disc technology gives the advantages of sharing of video, music, image backup, data and been shared between computers. 3D Blu-ray has the capability of high definition playback. The storage and backup on BD-R or BD-RE discs, or up to 220 minutes of high definition 24MBPS MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video on a BD-R/RE 50GB disc of BDX-S500U drive. 

The drive has 8X speed and records standard 4.7GB DVD+/-R, 4X speed on 8.5 GB DVD+/-R Double/Dual layer, 8X speed DVD+RW, DVD-RW at up to 6X, CD-R at up to 24X, CD-RW at up to 16X, and DVD-RAM recording supports up to 5X speed.
